Did you know?...

It is common practice to take your car in for regular oil changes, maintenance, and washes...right? Without proper care, you wouldn’t expect a car to last for more that a few years. The very same is true of your home comfort systems.

Your HVAC systems are the most expensive appliances in your home, so it is very important to make sure they are well taken care of. Regular inspections & cleanings, or as we call them...tune ups, can extend the life of your units and can help you catch potential problems and avoid sudden breakdowns. Having a clean and efficient system can also help lower energy bills!

Most people understand that their furnaces need to have a yearly tune up/inspection performed, to insure everything is in clean, working order. But it is just as important to have a regular inspection done for your air conditioner as well. Your typical a/c is located on the outside of the home, and while it is designed to withstand weather, it is also exposed to small animals, insects, and foliage.

We offer a complete system maintenance plan called an ESA. Our ESA, or Energy Savings Agreement is a pre-paid maintenance plan that does more than just provide you with yearly service visits for your furnace and air conditioner. It makes you a VIP customer! Our ESA customers are never charged for overtime labor and receive special discounts for parts and repairs! And our ESA agreement is transferable. If you move, your ESA plan moves with you!

An ESA tune up includes the following services as necessary:

  • Clean/adjust burner assembly
  • Clean/Test ignition assembly
  • Test flue draft
  • Test starting capabilities
  • Clean/replace standard 1" filter
  • Test safety controls
  • Adjust blower components
  • Measure for correct air flow
  • Tighten electrical connections
  • Measure volts & amps
  • Lubricate bearings
  • Adjust/test thermostat
  • Clean out coils
  • Clean condensate drains
  • Check freon levels
  • Vacuum/clean furnace cabinet

ALSO: You should know that there are things that you can do, as a homeowner, to help care for your furnace or air conditioner. The biggest one is making sure to change the filters regularly. Depending on the type of systems you have, you made need to change or clean your filters every month, every six months, or once a year. And it is important to make sure you have the correct type & size of filter for your home. If you have any questions regarding how often your filters need changed, give us a call and we can help you make sure your systems are being properly maintained.
